The Kansas State Board of Indigents’ Defense offers a limited number of training scholarships each year.
These scholarships are limited to state-employed public defenders and staff. To apply, please complete the form below.

Requests that are received at least three months before any training that requires out-of-state travel, and one month before any in-state or virtual training will receive priority.
Each person asking to attend training must submit this form separately.
Anyone attending training using KSBIDS funds may be asked to help teach other training in the future.
Once this form is submitted, KSBIDS Administrative Office Staff will get back to you within approximately 1 week to notify you if your request has been approved, and, if so, what you can expect going forward. Thank you!
