Join us for a poverty simulation, facilitated by Kansas Assistant Federal Public Defenders Che Ramsey and Tim Burdick. A poverty simulation is a facilitated two-hour immersive experience designed to create awareness among participants of life at the bottom rung of the economic ladder. Participants are assigned to “families” who do their best to survive week-to-week over a simulated one-month period. Eunice is an Associate Professor of Law at the Washburn University School of Law. She teaches Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing. Prison and jail conditions have a huge effect on our clients and their cases. What do you do when a mentally ill client isn't receiving his medication? Or when a jail is restricting legal calls?
